The Wine Rack Store continues to produce more videos about just how easy it is assemble their products. They clearly show step by step how to put together a wine rack or wine cube. The videos are short and the instructions are really easy to follow. You can find them on You Tube by searching Wine Rack Store or Wine Rack Assembly Video. At last. Yes, we have completed our first wine rack assembly video. It stars Mike Kitson and is produced by Sidney Ray. The Wine Rack Store is the first to produce a video showing how easy it is to complete a Classic Wine Rack. The video can be watched on YouTube It clearly shows assembly step by step. This won't be the last video either. It is the first in a series of instructional videos that will show each of our wine racks. Wine Rack Store Hits The Beach.

A lot of the Wine Rack Store crew has just spent 10 fabulous days in the Dominican Republic. The beaches were fantastic, as were the people at the resort. We stayed in Punta Cana at the Excellence Resort. I can't say enough good things about it. We even had some time to explore some opportunities for making wood wine racks or supplying mahogany to our plants. There are many Dominican people that are underemployed, and could use a job that would give them a way to support their families. Maybe there is something we can do to help.

Denise Is Getting A Motorycycle For Her Birthday.

I have decided to get Denise a Suzuki 650F for her birthday. I really like the bike and the local dealer is looking to move some. She took her motorcycle safety course last summer, but we postponed getting her a motorcycle. It should get good mileage and be a lot of fun. I like my motorcycle which is a Suzuki SV1000S. We buy a lot of wine at the wine rack store. Two reasons really. One reason is that we need thousands of full wine bottles for our photo shots. The second more legitimate reason is, we just plain love wine. I don't think we are connoisseurs. We love the way wine is made, and way it has been part of the human landscape since the pharoahs and before. We love the many different tastes of wine. Everybody has their favorite and that is a-ok. My personal favorite is Shiraz. We love the fact, that in moderation wine is good for you and your heart. We also love the fact that every day millions of people from around the world get together over dinner with their families and friends and experience wine. The Wine Rack Store in it's commitment to be as environmentally responsible, as is practically possible, has stopped using all it's gas powered landscaping equipment. Instead it is using totally battery powered equipment. This may seem like a small step, but did you know that a typical gas powered lawnmower used for 1 hour of use, pollutes as much as a new car does if it is driven 3400 miles. Over the course of a summer's worth of use, we will have offset the pollution of our company vehicles, as well as our employees mileage commuting to and from work. Small steps can add up! There is a minus for replacing the gas equipment. Battery equipment is simply not as strong as the equivalent sized gas equipment, so it takes longer to do the same job. This means a little more time spent and little bit more labor cost. On the plus side is there is significantly less pollution, maintenance becomes zero with electric equipment, and there is no gas to buy. The money saved more than offsets the additional labor. This doesn't have much to do with a wine rack or wine cellar, however it clearly demonstrates to our customers that we mean business when it comes to fighting pollution and greenhouse gases.

Almost 15 years ago when we started winerackstore.com we hardly ever shipped wine racks to the southern US. That sure has changed a lot in the years since. We had a great time recently when we had a wine tasting at the Wine Rack Store. We set up 4 wine tasting tables and a wine coffee table so that folks had lots of places to sit and stand while sampling their wine. Our wine glass charms were used, so that nobody mixed up their glass with other folks. A great time was had by all. We are going to have a lot more in the future.

It has been a little frustrating today because we had a call from a potential customer who was mad at us. I think I need to brush up on my communication skills. He wanted a product we don't make, in a color we don't have. He then wanted a another product that we are out of stock of. I'm sorry we can't ship it. He asked if I was the owner..."you bet" I said.

Well it's crazy hot here in Olympia today. We're reaching new heights on the old thermometer. The dogs are lying down on the tile floor panting away, and I can feel beads on sweat forming on my forehead. It's days like this that should be made into instant holidays. Instead of snow days, they could be called "lake days" or "RTHTGDAGTWD", which would stand for "ridiculously too hot to get dressed and go to work days". We have been having heat warnings which is unusual for this area. I don't think I can remember having them before. Other then the worry of melting everybody is in good spirits here at the wine rack store.
In other news, Matt has welcomed a new member to the family. Her name is Zoe, and he says that she's a real babe magnet. She's eleven weeks old, and she's twelve pounds of pure joy. Here's a picture of both of them at the beach.

Coffee Wine Table is a hit!

The coffee table had some fairly mundane beginnings. I was shopping with my son who wanted a coffee table for his condo. I was shocked about how boring all the coffee tables were. The coffee tables were the same as they were 50 years ago, uninteresting, impractical and they have no features that would make folks want to be around them. I guess that is how the process started. The next thing I know, I am drawing coffee tables that I would like and that would provide a conversation piece for our guests. I thought immediately about the storage of wine (imagine that:-) . If you put wine into it, why not have it so that people can see your favorite bottles, so I put a glass top on it. I designed it to be strong and practical. Strong because unlike any other coffee table, people actually are going to use it for something else other than a place to put the remote control. Practical because it has a drawer to hold all those wine accessories that are stored throughout the kitchen not to mention the 38 bottles it can store. I think it is a quality piece that will entertain and be useful for many years.

WooHoo....It's Friday! I hope everyone is excited for the weekend. It's my one year anniversary this Sunday, and I can't wait to give my husband his present. I got him a beautiful watch, and he's going to love it. I didn't know what to get him until I saw it just passing by. Presents are so hard sometimes. I have a hard time deciding what to get friends for their birthdays, and Christmas. I have given some of my friends wine charms before, and they just love them. They add so much personality and charm to a dinner party. If you ever have any troubles trying to find the perfect stocking stuffer, or just a little something to say thank you, or I've been thinking about you, I would suggest looking at the many unique styles of wine charms. They are all hand made by Denise Kitson here at the wine rack store. She's a wonderfully creative woman who also happens to be my Mom.
