How Do I Protect a Wine Rack From a Puppy?
I must be out of my mind. I am obviously to far from my wine rack and the grief of it has made me finally lose it. I was talking to my mother this afternoon and I heard my father say that he saw a flier at work that was offering a free 7 month old chocolate lab puppy to a good home. I actually suggested that he should call and get some information for me about it. This wouldn’t be such a big deal except that I am on the opposite coast and won’t be able to care for it until the beginning of June.My boyfriend and I have wanted a dog for a very long time. We are experienced dog owners. Our families have owned dogs since we were young. I didn’t want to bother with one until we were done with this east coast adventure. We keep going back and forth about what breed we want. We have also considered adopting a dog.
If for some reason my insanity continues and we offer to adopt it, they’ll be a lot work involved. I’ll have to make the house dog-friendly, fix up the yard, and then the obedience training begins.

My Other Wine Rack Store Blog Helper
I am not the only bird owner in my family. My parents own a Senegal parrot named Bailey. They are her third and last owners. Like a lot of parrots, she thinks she is the head of the household. The fact that we let her run amok in the house probably does not help her ego. She maybe a small parrot but she has a huge personality. She is quite a dancer and especially likes it when you dance along with her. She really likes cabinets full of anything colorful. She will just sit and gaze into a cabinet for hours. She seems to have a particular attraction to Tupperware. I am not really sure what that is all about.
She has learned to imitate the squeaky door we usually exit the house out of. As soon as she sees us grab our jackets or hears us put on our shoes she will start making the squeaky noises and squawking. If she had it her way, we’d never leave the house.
As you can see she can take a good photo. She was a real good sport about sitting on this wine off my wine rack.

My Little Wine Rack Store Blog Helper
I am never alone writing these blogs. I usually have my little “helper,” Freckles the cockatiel, distracting me. While I try to write, he enjoys exploring my desk. He likes to chase after the mouse, walk on the key board, or chew on any stray piece of paper. He also likes to beg for a scratch right when I am in the middle of a paragraph.
He’s starting to get pretty old. He’s nearly a senior citizen in cockatiel years. With as much noise as he makes, you’d still think he’s a young bird.
He doesn’t know many tricks but he is a pretty good whistler. He also can make some strange noises. He will purr like a cat when he is being scratched and will squeal like a pig when he is fighting with the bell in his cage. This bell also serves as a “binky” when he is calm.
When he isn’t sitting on me begging for scratches, his favorite perch is the wine rack on our entertainment center.
