Good News for Washington Wine Racks
Lake Chelan in Eastern Washington is being recognized as a designated growing region. It is the United State’s 11th American Viticulture Area. The Columbia Valley wine region originally encompassed Lake Chelan. These viticultural areas were created to provide wine consumers with information regarding the quality or special characteristics of the grapes grown in that region. The vintners of Lake Chelan have been fighting for this designation for along time. I am glad to see they have finally received it. There are currently 13 wineries operating in the area. All the ones I have visited have provided a great wine tasting experience and great wine. I look forward to traveling back there again soon and visiting new wineries.
Lake Chelan is an incredibly beautiful area. Whether your going to swim in the lake or to find some wine for your wine rack, you are bound to enjoy your visit.

Saint Laurent for Your Wine Rack
I visited two wineries this past weekend and Saint Laurent was one of them. I have enjoyed their wine before but had not visited the winery until now. The winery is up in the hills of the Wenatchee Valley. Orchards and vineyards surround the property. You get a nice view of the Columbia River and surrounding scenery from up there. The landscape is pretty bare now but I am sure it looks very beautiful in the summer.I knew it was going to be a good experience when I saw WSU themed wreath by their door. We tasted 6 wines. My favorites were the Rose (which I have had many times before) and the Riesling (never had before). I did not purchase any bottles but they were very reasonably priced.
The winery can also be rented out for events and weddings. There is a gazebo out on the lawn that would be great for a summer wedding.
So if you are looking to fill up your wine rack, check out Saint Laurent. You won’t be disappointed.

Some New Wine For Your Wine Rack
Since I am in Wenatchee this weekend, I was treated to another wine tour in the valley. The first place we stopped at was Martin-Scott Winery a few miles out of town. The winery is perched up on a hill giving a good view of the Columbia River and surrounding mountains. The tasting room is warm and cozy. There are many windows revealing the lovely view. In the summer, it would be really great to bring a picnic to enjoy out on their patio. They also have space available to rent for dinner parties or weddings.
We tasted three different red and white wines. The wine that stuck out the most to me was their Viognier. It was absolutely delicious. I purchased a bottle to add to my wine rack. I also enjoyed their Cabernet Sauvignon immensely.
I’d like to return there again sometime when I can actually enjoy the lovely landscaping without being cold.

Inexpensive Wine For Your Wine Rack
I was first introduced to Saint Laurent Estate Winery with their Syrah Rose. That wine was the bottle that helped start me down the red wine path. I enjoyed it very much and also enjoyed the price tag at $14.99.Recently we broke out a bottle of their Lucky Red we had been saving on our wine rack. I was not as impressed with this wine. Also, it proved to be undrinkable the next day even after we vacuum sealed the bottle so we had to dump half of it. Perhaps if we had been able to finish it off it would have justified the $14.99 price tag.
The winery offers over 10 different types of wine including 4 whites and 6 reds. The vineyard is located in Malaga, which is south of Wenatchee, Washington. They have a tasting room there and in Quincy.
If you’d like to support a Washington State winery I’d suggest giving them a try. If your wine rack is in need of a Rose, they are the people to go to.

Think of All the Wine Racks You’d Need to Display All This Wine

While I was staying in Wenatchee this weekend, I was given a tour of the wineries in Lake Chelan. The first one we stopped at was Benson Vineyards Estate Winery. The winery sits up on a hill and looks down on the north shore of Lake Chelan. If it weren’t for the fog, the view would be quite lovely.
This vineyard produces 13 different types of grapes that they turn into seven types of red and four types of white wines. The vines were planted in 2002 and their first harvest took place in 2004. They now produce about 3,500 cases of wine every year. The picture above shows the cases in the tasting room. Who wants to guess how many 96 Bottle Instant Cellar Wine Racks you will need to show off all these bottles?
We tasted about six wines, two white and four red. I enjoyed both whites but the chardonnay was exceptional. Unlike most I have tried, this one had a many different layers of flavors. I also really enjoyed the cabernet franc. It had a really peppery flavor that I enjoy.

First Post at Wine Rack Store Blog

Just wanted to stop by, make a quick first post, and say hello to all the readers.
As mentioned in the introductory post, my name is Victoria and I have just been added to the blogger crew.
I may be new to Wine Rack Store but I am very familiar with blogging and wine. When it comes to personal blogging, I am pretty practiced. I used to post religiously about my life on a journal website. But now that I am out of college my life has taken a turn for the boring so I don’t bother to write about it anymore.
Wine is a developing passion of mine. Since I grew up in wine country it has always been a large part of my life. When I was a child the vineyards were always an enjoyable place to play in. Now that I am grown, I can enjoy the drinking of it. Currently my favorite is Pure Platinum by Kestrel Vintners located in Prosser, Washington.
I am looking forward to contributing regularly to this blog. I hope you will enjoy my future posts at the Wine Rack Store.
