4th of July in Virginia: A Wine Rack Store Recommendation

If you really like living history and re-enacted historical events, perhaps a reading of the Declaration of Independance, you may already have made plans to visit Colonial Williamsburg this 4th of July. Did you know that there is also a winery just south of this popular and patriotic venue? Okay, maybe you did, but I happen to find it very convenient. Guests can celebrate this nation’s day of freedom from colonial rule, add to their wine racks, watch fireworks, all in the same day.

Williamsburg Winery happens to be the largest winery in Virginia producing about 60,000 cases each year. Their most popular is the Governor’s White. Bottles issuing from this locale often feature historical trivia on the label.
Names for whites and reds drip with early American references such as Two Shilling Red, Acte 12 Chardonnay and Henings Statute Cabernet Sauvignon. Their large establishment has been created to represent an older era with a colonial ambience, so that visiting to taste wine becomes more of an attraction than simply a prelude to purchase.
So give vent to patriotic emotions or, for international visitors, take a trip to this area to get a sense of what it means to be American on the 4th of July.
